Intranet 2.0: World Bank Group’s Home for 12k Staff

Youth to Youth (Y2Y) Community celebrates its 15th anniversary with former World Bank Group President David Malpass, 2019.
As an Internal Communications Consultant supporting the World Bank Group’s employee engagement team, I developed the editorial content strategy for WBG’s intranet landing page, using it to embed institutional goals and values across the workforce. I launched staff-wide campaigns that celebrated employee voices, strengthened camaraderie, and increased engagement and traffic to internal resources.

Project

Reimagined information architecture and designed a user-friendly SharePoint homepage reflecting priorities and regional diversity.
Fix the lack of alignment with organizational priorities and the infrequent content publishing to strengthen trust and connection among 15,000+ staff.
Replace a manual, email-based submission process with a clear standardized workflow.

Reimagined information architecture and designed a user-friendly SharePoint homepage reflecting priorities and regional diversity.
Built an editorial calendar and playbook; produced staff spotlights, campaign series, and executive updates deepening staff awareness of WBG’s priorities.
Streamlined the submission workflow and trained 200+ contributors on content criteria and best practices.

Increased global staff traffic to the homepage by 38%.
Launched inclusive and thematic campaigns that boosted engagement and participation.
Put governance in place and launched quarterly performance reports (first time tracking reach, comments, and engagement) to inform content strategy.
