From Cabinet-level talking points to intranet communications read by 15,000 + staff, I turn vision into campaigns and campaigns into action. Change management–certified and journalism trained, I connect people, platforms, and purpose all with an eye on social good. I help leaders and organizations craft strategic messaging, tell creative stories and leave lasting impressions onstage and online. I’ve drafted crisis memos for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator and on-camera scripts for the World Bank Group CEO.

From Colleagues

Micheal Rifer

Managing Director, USAID Private Sector Engagement Hub
Kat's technical excellence as a communicator, and her deep knowledge of how internal communications work at USAID, are just so apparent and valuable to us already - she's such a huge asset to the team, and we're only just beginning to scratch the surface of how she's going to add value to the CRM program and beyond. I also can't say enough about her willingness to jump in and help out wherever she can. She's never said, "that's not my role" -- she's always looking for ways to contribute. Just a great teammate.

Cole Simko

Communications Advisor, USAID
Thank you for everything you have provided us at the Hub, including your knack for always getting things done, moving mountains to make sure we meet our goals, supporting us all through your connections at every level of the Agency, and most importantly being an amazing co-worker.

Gracie LeFevre

Special Assistant to the Administrator, USAID
It has been an honor working with you, and I'm grateful for the skills and knowledge you've shared with me. You've been an incredible coworker, and I'll miss you dearly.

Rea Regan

Marketing Manager, USAID
When the Comms/KM merged last year, I felt so grateful for the opportunity to learn from you! 🥰 Your knowledge of comms and how to apply it best here at USAID is so inspiring, so thank you for teaching me skills that I continue to use to this day. I will miss your kindness and humor and patience and support and just...yeah, I'm gonna miss you

Adam Tomasek

Supervisory Managing Director, USAID Private Sector Engagement Hub
Your leadership on the comms efforts for building out eCRM and then Campfire and then Compass have been invaluable. You can be very proud of what you have accomplished in terms of developing a consistent and compelling comms package for the system

Amy Davenport

Director, USAID Global Industry Coordination Network
It was such a pleasure working with you. You were a fantastic video production partner and I so appreciate the amazing work you did with our Network videos!

Anastasia Rubinyi

Knowledge Management and Learning Specialist, World Bank Group
On top of her full-time responsibilities, Katima supported the Youth Summit to shape the Youth Summit’s message, prepare speakers, and build an incredible program of events. She is reliable and generous.

Bianca Castro

Strategy and Operations Analyst, World Bank Group
Katima was instrumental in our team and in training hundreds of colleagues and communicators on content submissions. She jumped in with the employee engagement team and made it look easy.

Frederick Little

Chief of Readiness, USAID
Katima is an adept and professional communicator with the ability to present complex concepts and ideas into a manageable narrative that is clear, complete and unambiguous. She has done a stellar job by applying her talents to the many aspects of readiness that directly impact the Agency's worldwide staff, such as emergency management, continuity of operations, health and safety, and crisis response. The nature of the readiness mission requires quick assessment of the situation and often the immediate release of critical information. We could not have been successful in these difficult tasks without the talent that Kat brings to the table. An impressive professional all around!

I advise leaders on the words that matter.
